My choice and treatment of materials serves to reflect that same sense of ineffability that compels me to work. The crude, utilitarian quality of the steel elements, the coarse, earthen clay, the corporeality of wax-treated paper, the humility and immediacy of wood - all are as visual counterparts to what may otherwise evade articulation.
